Born in New Jersey, raised in Pennsylvania, living in Oregon for the past seven years. Yet to ford a single river or lose a family member to diphtheria.

I am totally fine with the last part, kind of aiming to accomplish that first part.

Now I’m a Peace Corps volunteer serving and living in Xifeng, Qingyang, Gansu, P.R. China. And the length of the address symbolically mirrors how far away I am from anything else. In other words: I’ve got my perfect town.

Also, I really like the shaker parmesan, and after a friend rejected ‘shakercheese’ as a username suggestion, I decided to adopt it as my own. Feel free to mail me some. Or potato chips. I like those too.

For the time being, my blog image is the view from where I grew up. Mount Nittany is one of the most identifiable mountains in my life.
